Add a link to an external site

This article describes how to create links in Web Viewer to external sites. Nodes as well as presentations (catalogues, parts, part assemblies, documents) in web viewer may have URL references, and if node is clicked or the link on the presentation is used the user will navigate to that URL.

E.g. a node in gallery (or in tree structure) may direct to www.signifikant.se.

Step-by-step guide

Follow the below steps to add links in Manager.

  1. Add a node or a presentation in Manager. On the node or presentation add a reference.

  2. Choose to add a new identity

  3. In the dialogue add the URL in the identity field. Ensure to add "http://". Select type

    • Url-External for a link which will navigate to the url

    • Url-Internal for a link which will open in the pane area of Web Viewer

  4. Save the changes and republish.

When adding the link ensure to add "http://" or "https://".
