  • Navigate to the file or directory in File Explorer.

  • Right-click and select Properties > Security tab.

  • Adjust permissions for each user or group:

    • Allow access only to the application pool identity and admins.

    • Deny access to Everyone or any unnecessary users.

  • Apply changes and propagate permissions to subdirectories.
