A typical use case is to add a link from e.g. a node to an external system. This can be achieved with references.

  1. Go to a node which shall be used to click at to go to the external system

  2. Preferrably add an image to the node (optional)

  3. Click to add a reference on the node.

  4. When new reference is added, choose type "Url-External"

  5. Enter the URL in the identity field. Ensure to include the full URL, e.g. "http://www.domain.com"
